School's Purpose

Mission: Pioneer High School prepares every student to be successful in college or at a career through rigorous studies and social development.

Vision: Pioneer High School will encourage students to explore their learning potential through opportunities provided by instruction.

Belief statements:

WE BELIEVE: 

-Students learn best when actively engaged in their own learning process.
-Student performance is enhanced by mutual respect between students and staff.
-In preparing students to be a valuable member of the community by providing opportunities for
student involvement.
-Students learn best when teachers are positive, supportive, encouraging and understanding. -Students learn best when teachers maintain high and clear expectations and provide appropriate
support.
-Students' efforts and work ethic yields positive results.
-Students are successful when they create and use a variety of thinking and reasoning strategies -Students need a curriculum that incorporates instructional activities that accommodate differences
in learning.
-Students thrive in an environment committed to consistent communication between school,
parents, and the community.
-Students learn best in an environment that is respectful and safe.


To achieve our mission and purpose we have a large variety of course offerings. These include:
numerous AP and accelerated courses, career and technical education courses, music, art, dual enrollment at local colleges, Ann Arbor Virtual Academy, Community Resources program, Trailblazers, Read 180, and E2020.
